The Pleasant Hill Dam and Lake were constructed for flood reduction, recreation and fish and wildlife management. At the Corps of Engineers' Pleasant Hill Lake, extensive recreation facilities are operated by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD). Visit their website at: www.mwcdlakes.com.

Pleasant Hill Lake right in the middle of two major recreation areas: Mohican State Park and Forest below the dam and MWCD's Pleasant Hill Lake Park, created by the dam, above it.

Golden Age and Golden Access and other Federal recreation passports are not honored by MWCD.

Louis Bromfield's home, Malabar Farm, is maintained by the State Historical Society at the upper end of reservoir. Mohican State Park is downstream of dam.

Directions

Pleasant Hill Dam is approximately 20 miles east of I-71. At I-71 take Exit 165, take State Route 97 east, travel 4.6 miles past the village of Butler, Ohio, and turn left onto McCurdy Road, go two miles and turn right on Goon Road. It*s 1.2 miles to the dam.
