SANILAC PETROGLYPHS HISTORIC STATE PARK

Introduction This historic site is administered jointly with the Michigan Department of History, Arts and Libraries and contains Michigan's only known rock carvings attributed to Native American Indian workmanship. The Sanilac Petroglyphs site is presently CLOSED to the general public. Group access may be obtained by DNR Special Use Permit, with a fee charged. Open The hiking trail is open throughout the year.

Location Take M-53 south of Bad Axe to Bay City-Forestville Road. Go east four miles to Germania Road, and drive south on Germania to the park entrance on the west side of the road. No restrooms on site.


Directions

2.5 miles E. on Forestville Bay City Rd. Then go 1 mile S. on Germania Rd. to Park Entrance.
