Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge (Swanton)

Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1943, is located on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain near the Canadian border in Franklin County, Vermont.

Union Village Dam (East Thetford)

Near Thetford, over 6 miles of river are available for fishing for stocked brown and rainbow trout and also natural brook trout. Recreation facilities include a swim area, picnic tables, grills, drinking water, overhead shelter and restrooms.

North Springfield Lake (SPRINGFIELD)

The 100-acre lake and 65-acre Stoughton Pond offer excellent warm-water fishing (small boats only). A small park on Stoughton Pond has a beach and picnic area. Reservoir lands are open for hunting and smowmobiling.

Ball Mountain Lake (Jamaica)

Winhall Brook Campground (seasonal 3rd weekend in May to Columbus Day weekend) offers streamside campsites; modern restrooms with hot showers; trailer dump station and resident campground attendants.

North Hartland Lake (North Hartland)

At the upper end of the reservoir, the Ottauquechee River flows through the sheer-faced 165-ft deep Quechee Gorge, one of the outstanding natural spectacles in the state.

Townshend Lake (Townshend)

A 95-acre lake provides an attractive setting for the day-use area with swimming, picnicking, hiking and boating (10 horse power limit). A historic covered bridge is located downstream.

Green Mountain National Forest (Rutland)

The Green Mountain National Forest is a four season (some say six with mud and Black Fly season) recreation experience. The most popular season is autumn when the mountains are ablaze with color.

Finger Lakes National Forest (Rutland)

The Finger Lakes National Forest provides plenty of "room to roam, " with few restrictions on recreation use.
