Black Rock Lake (Thomaston)
Located next to Black Rock State Park, the project is crossed by a portion of the Mattatuck Trail. The 21-acre lake is stocked with trout by the State.
Colebrook River Lake (Riverton)
A 750-acre lake is used as a standby water supply, and is available seasonally for fishing and boating. The lake is stocked with trout. A large boat ramp is available.
Hancock Brook Lake (Middlebury)
The project includes a shallow 40-acre lake and streamside environment good for canoeing, fishing and hunting.
Northfield Brook Lake (Thomaston)
Northfield Brook Lake is a scenic day use park with a swim beach, horseshoe pits, picnic shelters, tables and fire grills located throughout the park. The 1.7-mile-long self-guided hiking trail winds throughout the park. The 8-acre lake is stocked with trout by the State and supports warmwater fish species. Reservations for group picnic shelters are accepted in summer.
Thomaston Dam (Thomaston)
Vista picnic area offers visitors an excellent view of the dam and portions of the Naugatuck River Valley. The streamside environment is popular for fishing, hunting, trail bike riding and snowmobiling.

Canoes, sailboards and rowboats are welcome on the 21-acre lake. The lake and its feeder streams are stocked with trout by the State. Cross-country skiing is popular during winter.
Mansfield Hollow Lake (MANSFIELD CENT)
A popular day-use park is managed by the State around a 450-acre lake. A large picnic area and playfields serve as a nucleus to miles of hiking and cross-country skiing trails. Boat ramp provided. Hunting and fishing opportunities available.
West Thompson Lake (North GrosvenordaleROSVENORD)
Excellent camping (seasonal) in a rustic campground with wooded sites near 200-acre lake. Modern bathroom with hot showers, trailer dump station and resident campground attendants. Boat ramp (5 mph limit for boats), picnic area, hunting, fishing and hiking opportunities available.
Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge (Westbrook)
Stewart B. McKinney NWR is comprised of eight parcels of land that are stretched across Connecitcut's shoreline. The headquarters is located approximately 45 minutes south of Hartford and 30 minutes east of New Haven in Westbrook, CT. Salt Meadow NWR was established in 1972 and redesignated by Congress as the Connecticut Coastal National Wildlife Refuge in 1984. The refuge was renamed in 1987 to honor the late U.S. Congressman Stewart B. McKinney, who was instrumental in its establishment.
